Reuben Smith attends Ken Demchuk International!

Reuben has arrived home after a fantastic weekend in Markham, Ontario participating at the Ken Demchuk International Invitational! What an experience!

A fun 3-day meet welcoming Para swimmers from across the nation, including some who participated in the 2024 Paris Paralympics. Reuben made it to the S14 finals in all 6 of his individual events. Swimming faster at night in each event, Reuben had some major breakthrough moments. The icing on the cake was that he got to participate in a 56-point Mixed 4x100 Medley Relay on Sunday night where he clenched the heat win with a major comeback as anchor.

Following the meet, Reuben also got to participate in a 2-day camp hosted by Swim Ontario. Here he met new swimmers and coaches, focused in on technique and race strategies and even got to do an escape room!

Congratulations Reuben on handling your first competition on the big stage with such ease, confidence and determination. Onwards and upwards!
