Bronze Medallion Course Description:
Bronze Medallion is a program that teaches the fundamentals of water rescue, focusing on judgement, knowledge, skill and fitness. It's a practical and physically demanding course that prepares individuals to respond to various water rescue situations. The course content includes water safety, rescue techniques, and the ability to make informed decisions in and around water.
Bronze Cross with Emergency First Aid (EFA) Description:
Bronze Cross builds upon the skills learned in the Bronze Medallion, focusing on advanced lifesaving techniques and preparing candidates for assistant lifeguard roles or further training like National Lifeguard and Instructor certification. It emphasizes teamwork, communication, and active surveillance in aquatic environments. EFA training focuses on recognizing and managing emergencies, including shock, external bleeding, heart attack/angina, stroke/TIA, and more.
*Special Note: Participants will receive EITHER Bronze Medallion OR Bronze Cross certification. This course does not result in being certified in both at the same time. You will receive certification in whichever course you require at the time.
**Age Requirements: 13 years or older OR turning 13 before the end of the course dates.
